Pronunciation with TALK

 In Blog

We, at Talk Corporate Language Training, are inviting you to come to our courses to improve your pronunciation by learning more about Stress, Rhythm, and Intonation in English.

Take Advantage of our professional development courses to excel in the way you speak.

To improve your pronunciation, and ensure clear speech, we need to focus on the following areas:

  • Stress (emphasis in words and phrases)
  • Rhythm (Stress patterns/slow, moderate, fast)
  • Intonation (Melody / up, flat, down)

But don’t just take our words for it, check below a poem we think you would enjoy that focuses on the different ways to pronounce in the English language.

Now that you have heard the correct ways to pronounce those words and how tricky some of the English words can be, compare how you thought they were to sound by recording at the bottom of this page or on your recording devices.

When speaking the English language try to make sure that you’re pronouncing everything correctly. The key is to hear how another person is saying those words and in what context. For example, turn on your TV, or open your computer to watch some of the movies that we recommend with subtitles to get a hold on the correct ways to pronounce the English language.

  • The King’s Speech
  • My Fair Lady
  • The Social Network
  • Forest Gump
  • La La Land

Let us know some of the English movies that you enjoy watching. Remember watching a movie will improve your listening skills and give you something to talk about.

And who better to talk about your language acquisition, and the methods to improve, but us at Talk Corporate Language training.
