COVID-19 and Language Distance Learning

Most governments around the world have temporarily closed educational institutions in an attempt to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to UNESCO, the nationwide closures are impacting more than 90% of the world’s student population. Several other countries have implemented localized closures impacting millions of additional learners.

As a result, the delivery method of teaching has changed from on-site to distance learning. Whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms. More people are using language apps, virtual tutoring, video conferencing tools or online learning software to continue with their learning process.

This is the time, more than ever,  to take advantage of distance learning such as:

  • Easy access to course resources
  • More flexibility in scheduling the classes
  • Assign and track the student’s progress in their own time.
